Orientation 2023: Connecting with Manaiakalani

Orientation 2023 took place on 24th January 2023. The Orientation day is an opportunity for teachers new to our cluster schools to connect with the kaupapa and pedagogy of The Manaiakalani Programme.

Schools are invited to send teachers for this PLD opportunity so they can experience the Learn Create Share pedagogy as they learn about the Manaiakalani Programme. This is a collegial space where they can access support and develop a deeper understanding of The Manaiakalani Programme and what it offers them as a teacher in a school in our Tairāwhiti cluster and especially as a teacher in a 1:1 digital environment.

Details of your Orientation Day can be found on our cluster site here.

The participants created an online profile which brings together learning about being Cybersmart, learning about digital tools and then sharing their creations.

Their online profiles are included in this presentation.

    1. Just had a thought... maybe move the position of your unicorn as it looks like it's piercing you in the head?

  4. Tēnā Koe, Sarah.
Positive: My inner nine-year-old loved the design choices in your profile - I appreciate the consistency in colour, font, and elements
Thoughtful: I like how you added your interests - this is a great way to make connections with students and other teachers. For instance, I like plants and growing things as well.
Helpful: Maybe for next time, you could add punctuation to the sentence: "I have a husband and a cat called Marlee. It sounds like you are married to your cat!

  8. Kia ora Celia,

I can see you have worked hard to show off your creativity. I especially like the frame you have chosen for your picture.

I am jealous that you have alpacas, I would love to have some of my own one day. I bet they are really interesting to care for!

It looks like the heads of the people on your frame have been chopped off, you could drag the picture up to avoid this.
